What A Day For A Daydream!

My favorite teachers on the Law of Attraction are Esther Hicks/Abraham.  I like them because their teachings are simple, consistent and humorous.  Whether I’m reading their books, watching their videos or listening to their CD’s, I always come away with the same basic understanding~ the essential key to attracting what we want is to generate the feeling of having it.  Unless we experience the feeling (vibration), we can’t attract the thing, because we aren’t a vibrational match.  We must let ourselves IMAGINE the way we will FEEL when we actually have the fill-in-the-blank (happiness, success, money, relationship, health, home, peace…)

As a general rule, most people don’t do this, because we were never told how important it is.  I certainly can’t remember my parents or teachers telling me to spend time visualizing my goals.  Worse than that, I can remember being told to “stop daydreaming!”  So now, I’m making up for lost time and I’d like to encourage you to do the same~ Start Daydreaming!

It’s really fun and it’s really easy and I can promise you it’s not a waste of your time.  Close your eyes and, for a few minutes, think about whatever it is that you’re wanting.  Instead of thinking about how you don’t have it, pretend you do have it.  Pretend you’re watching a movie where you are the Star AND the Director.  Let yourself really see it, to the point that you can really FEEL it.  The more often you do it, the more fun you’ll have with it, and the more fun you have with it, the more often you’ll do it, and the more often you do it, the more you’ll be generating the all-important feelings that you’ll be feeling when you have whatever it is you want to have. (Is that last sentence too long?)  In a nutshell, you have to feel it before you can hold it.

I know many of you visualize on a regular basis and I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas on this.  For those who don’t, wouldn’t today be a perfect day to start daydreaming?  I believe it would! What do you believe?

Meditation Doesn’t Work! Up Until Now…

In the last post we discussed how our Immune System is affected by our mental attitude and touched on the fact that research shows the practice of meditation improves our immune response.  He (the Ph.D. who gave the seminar AND did the research) said that people with weakened Immune Systems showed a vast improvement when they meditated on a regular basis.

This is very good news…if you meditate.  My experience tells me that most people don’t, which I find completely understandable, because MEDITATION IS BORING!  At least that’s what I used to think.

I first took a meditation class when I was 19. I learned the technique, practiced it every day for several months and…nothin!  Through the years I’d tried several other forms of meditation; everything from staring at a candle flame, to repeating a secret mantra, to listening to a specially encrypted CD.  Each time I tried, I became more and more convinced that the people who say “meditation is a wonderful thing” must be lying.  How can sitting quietly with eyes closed for a set period of time be all that wonderful?  Why not just take a nap and be done with it?!

Well all that changed just a few months ago.  Now, I can honestly say that meditation is one of (if not THE) best things I do everyday and has profoundly changed my life.  You might be thinking “isn’t that a little too enthusiastic? Profoundly changed your life?!  Puh-lease!”  To which I would respond “I’m NOT kidding!”   Keep in mind, I thought people who claimed benefits from meditation were lying, just a few months ago and I had almost given up.

Knowing I am a huge Abraham-Hicks fan, may daughter bought me their newest book and CD called “Getting Into the Vortex~Guided Meditation”.
Fifteen minutes a day of breathing (which I was doing anyway) while listening to beautiful music and powerful words.  The greatest part was I felt an incredible difference after the very first listening!  Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!  So what change do I notice?  I feel happier, healthier, calmer, more confident, more relaxed, more focused, not to mention prettier, richer, smarter, funnier and kinder. I’m serious!

You’ll be hearing more about this in the coming weeks, because it’s helped me so much I’m putting together a 6 week workshop using this material.  I almost feel a sense of obligation to share this powerful, life-changing tool.  What’s most exciting is I’ve shared it with some friends and clients and they are experiencing the exact same results.  It’s similar to taking a great drug, in that you feel better instantly and the effects last for 24 hours, when it’s time for your next dose.  But unlike a drug, there are absolutely no unwanted side effects and you don’t need a doctor’s prescription!

If you’re thinking “yeah, she’s probably getting huge kick-backs from Abraham for talking this up!”, you would be correct.  But the kick-backs come not from Abraham-Hicks, but from The Universe.  I’ve been studying The Law of Attraction for many years, and nothing even comes close to this in terms of appreciable results.

I’d love to hear your experience with meditation, either with this CD or other forms that work for you.  And if you’re one of those people who’ve tried meditation and been underwhelmed in the past, I strongly encourage you to pick up this little gem and give it a go.  I promise (and I hardly ever promise) you will be glad you did!

Think Yourself Healthy

Last week I attended a seminar titled “The Immune System: The Mind-Body Connection: Who Gets Sick And Who Stays Well” These programs are a requirement to maintain my Nursing license, and usually pretty dull and boring.  Well, not only wasn’t I bored, but I came away feeling as inspired as if I had heard a great motivational speaker.
